Who is He?

John 3: 1-12

“Who sinned, this man or his parents?” the disciples asked Jesus when they saw a blind man. Perhaps they should have asked: “who hasn’t sinned?” because the Word of God tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The man wasn’t blind because he was being punished but his condition did give Jesus an opportunity to show God’s love. Without hesitation the Lord attended to the blind man and restored his sight.

The blind man didn’t ask for healing but he had the faith to go and wash his face as Jesus told him to. Faith receives blessings from God but faith does not deserve those blessings. Like the blind man we need to be willing to receive from God without thinking we deserve anything from Him. And then we must also be willing to rejoice in Him.
